Basketball Recap: Murray Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

If Hillcrest wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Murray, they should've done a better job of containing Brooklyn Richter. Everything went the Murray Spartans' way against the Hillcrest Huskies on Friday as the Murray Spartans made off with a 51-27 win thanks in part to Richter, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Amelia Lepore and Skylynn Salazar-Bell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lepore posted six points, while Salazar-Bell had no points and seven rebounds.

Murray's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Murray has already played their next contest, a 50-37 defeat against Jordan on the 21st. As for Hillcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-30 win against Summit Academy on the 21st.
