The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tolleson, who took down 137th ranked Hayden, 34-27. Tramari Ealey ran for 267 yards and caught one passes for 28 yards in the win.
Lucky Arvizo and Daren Morningstar provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Corona del Sol. The connection was good for 75 yards, the longest such play in I Section I this season.
Valley Vista's dynamic duo of Dalvin Richardson and Terry Juniel proved tough for Alhambra to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Richardson threw for 289 yards and three touchdowns and Juniel had 231 yards receiving. Isaiah Padilla helped Valley Vista's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
JT Moore made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Monsoon bested the Lions. The 6-foot-0 junior forced two fumbles, recorded two fumbles and racked up one sack.
St. Mary's's Gabe Losada and Lukas Treffers have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Losada has thrown for 1219 yards this season, while Treffers, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 56 catches for 626 yards. Jordan Mitchell from Cibola leads the league in rushing with 825 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Valley Vista takes on the Wolverines. Josh SeKoch's team is currently in second, while Tolleson is in seventh.
Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to ninth in I Section I. The Bobcats beat Maryvale 20-13 earlier in the week.
