After a string of four wins, the Southside Christian Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 38-26 to Open Bible Christian. If Southside Christian hoped to take revenge for the 44-20 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Ani Cowan,
Emma Wallace, and
Kaleigh Hardy posted five points each.
Southside Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Open Bible Christian, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Victory Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Victory Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Southside Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Open Bible Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against First Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. First Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
