The Ellenville Blue Devils had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tri-Valley 46-6 at home. This was payback for Ellenville, who suffered a 16-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jacob Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 265 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry. Wright was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Nero, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Ellenville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tri-Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellenville will challenge Rondout Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Rondout Valley is ranked 12th, while Ellenville is ranked 25th). As for Tri-Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Fallsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fallsburg will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
