The El Dorado Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Liberty Ranch Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
El Dorado took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Galt get on the board and left with a 41-0 win. The Cougars not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 42-0).

El Dorado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Villa, who rushed for 57 yards and two TDs on only seven carries. That's the most rushing yards Villa has posted since back in November of 2024. Logan Kruse also helped with two scores in total.
Meanwhile, Liberty Ranch strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over Argonaut. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
El Dorado better keep an eye on Wyatt Corriea. He was instrumental in Liberty Ranch's win, rushing for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Corriea really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Joe Lara was another major influence, as he rushed for 60 yards and ran in a TD.
Liberty Ranch was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 389 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 314 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Liberty Ranch didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Lara, Ryan Ogas, and Daniel Sosa picked up one apiece. Lara is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played.
El Dorado's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Liberty Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
El Dorado lost to Liberty Ranch on the road by a decisive 56-37 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Cougars, Joseph Brown (who rushed for 284 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
