The Cubs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 24 points or more this season.
Timnath's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mitchell Deangelis, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught one score. Deangelis is becoming a predictor of the Cubs' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Drew Raymond was another key signal caller, throwing for 154 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Timnath was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Timnath didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Dominic Giron led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Northridge lost, don't look at Wyatt Hill. Despite the final result, he picked up 92 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 68 yards.
Timnath is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.0 points on average over those games. As for Northridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
