The Bothell Cougars will face off against the Redmond Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bothell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Bothell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Skyline, who was ranked first at the time (Bothell was ranked 21st). The Cougars fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Addison Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
Meanwhile, Redmond strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against Mount Si. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted against the Wildcats since April 4, 2022.
Redmond also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ainsley Barcalow gave up just two earned (and five unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Maggie Enich was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Livy Ruess was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
Redmond hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.
Redmond's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Bothell, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bothell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like Redmond struggles in that department as they've averaged .402. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bothell came up short against Redmond when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 12-7. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
