Softball Recap: Tennessee Has No Trouble Against Sullivan East

Tennessee won the last time they faced Sullivan East and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 11-2 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Carrington Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Addie Wilhoit was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Carmody, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Tennessee's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Sullivan East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tennessee will face off against Unicoi County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sullivan East, they will take on Daniel Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
