Softball Recap: Mumford Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

While Mumford put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Axtell. The Mumford Mustangs walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Axtell Longhorns. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Mumford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amiyah Curry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. Another was Kelsie Rangel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Mumford pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs over those games. As for Axtell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Coming up, Mumford will venture away from home to take on Holland at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Axtell, they will head out on the road to square off against Bremond at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
