The Bethel Jaguars waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Hercules by a score of 59-46. Given Bethel's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while Hercules is ranked 1010th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
H. Howard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with two steals. D. Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five steals.
Bethel pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Hercules, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethel won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Benicia at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. One thing working in Benicia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches. As for Hercules, they will be playing at home against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
