They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Anandamaya Verling and
Zu Mikolajec, who each put up three points.
Keira Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain Heritage, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Wilson hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Callie Capps was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
NCSSM: Morganton dropped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Mountain Heritage, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
NCSSM: Morganton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Mountain Heritage, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
