Mount View hadn't done well against Waterville recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory got Mount View back to even at 6-6. As for Waterville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount View will welcome Maranacook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.8, the Black Bears 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Waterville, they will host Cony at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
