Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Soledad's Third in Last Four Outings

Gonzales came into Monday's game looking for another win against Soledad, but Pablo Morales Iv wouldn't allow it. The Soledad Aztecs blew past the Gonzales Spartans 68-41 on Monday thanks in part to Morales Iv, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Bryan Villegas was another key player, putting up ten points. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Soledad has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Gonzales, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Soledad wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-38 victory against Greenfield on the 8th. As for Gonzales, they will look to defend their home court on January 14th against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m.
