Wapakoneta took a serious blow against Olentangy on Saturday, falling 75-32. While losing is never fun, Wapakoneta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Olentangy is ranked fifth).
Whitney Stafford continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Olentangy, going 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. The contest was Stafford's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Mobley, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Wapakoneta's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Olentangy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Wapakoneta will be playing in front of their home fans against Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Olentangy, they will head out on the road to face off against Hilliard Darby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
