Woodmore has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Calvert Senecas at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Woodmore didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Eagles, but they still walked away with a 34-29 victory.
Even though Calvert has not done well against the Raiders recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Calvert took down the Raiders 47-31. The victory was all the more spectacular given Calvert's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Raiders are ranked 199th).
It was another big night for Alyssa Rishty, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Rishty is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kate Coleman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Woodmore pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Calvert, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Woodmore barely slipped by the Senecas when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 42-41. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rishty, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Woodmore still be able to contain Rishty? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
