The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Castle View Sabercats at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Vista will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Mountain Vista challenged Highlands Ranch on Friday. The Golden Eagles never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Castle View hadn't done well against Heritage recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Sabercats came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-6. The game was the first time the Sabercats have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 22, 2015.
Keyan Lundvall made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tommy Feldhake was incredible, firing off two home runs, two stolen bases, and three runs while going 4-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Derek Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Castle View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted a batting average of .222.
The victory made it two in a row for Castle View and bumps their season record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Vista, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
