Basketball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Takes a Loss

Somerset Sky Pointe was the 67-47 winner over Moapa Valley when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moapa Valley Pirates.

When it comes to explaining why Somerset Sky Pointe lost on Monday, don't look at Ja'Cory Gory. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points and three steals. Gory's afternoon made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Emmitt Bell was another key player, putting up 13 points and five assists.

It was another big night for Bryson Walker, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 boards for Moapa Valley. With that strong performance, Walker is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Bunker, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Somerset Sky Pointe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Moapa Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

As for Moapa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-51 loss against Legacy on the 24th.
