Rickards hasn't had much luck against Wakulla recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.
Rickards came up short against North Florida Christian on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Raiders have suffered against the Eagles since September 5, 2017.
While Rickards was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.
Angel Sheffield put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 15 digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, Wakulla suffered their biggest loss since September 25th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Leon.
The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-16.
Rickards will have to contain Mackenzie Hurley as she made an impact in Wakulla's last game. She had eight digs and one assist.
Rickards now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Wakulla, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Rickards has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9 aces per game. However, it's not like Wakulla struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Rickards suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Wakulla in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
