The Charleston Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 73-58 to Principia. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ko'terrion Owens and Tayshon Clark certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Owens scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Clark scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachyran Thomas, who scored eight points.
Charleston has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Principia, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Charleston has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Bombers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. Ballard Memorial is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Principia, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Panthers are ranked 38th).
