Elkhorn South has gone a perfect 3-0 against Burke recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Storm will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Elkhorn South will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Elkhorn South is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Omaha South 63-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Storm's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Packers are ranked 120th).

It was another big night for Jaydon Sutko, who rushed for 114 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Sutko is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 111 every time he's taken the field this season. Gavin Siemek was in the mix too, providing Elkhorn South with two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Elkhorn South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Elkhorn South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. Nathan Zehr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Burke didn't have quite enough to beat Fremont on Friday and fell 28-25. While the Bulldogs had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Tigers 18-3.
Elkhorn South will need to focus on slowing down Jasiah Summerfield, one of several Burke players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 318 yards and three TDs. Dayton Collins was Summerfield's top target, picking up 84 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Burke now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Elkhorn South, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Thursday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Sutko and Carnell Dangerfield. Sutko just won't slow down this season and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 178.4 rushing yards per game. Dangerfield has been a dominant force too and has averaged 84.8 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Elkhorn South against Burke in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
