The Covenant Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Brook Hill Guard at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Covenant comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, Covenant took a serious blow against the Chargers, falling 59-7. Covenant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-3.
Meanwhile, Brook Hill had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They skirted past Dallas Christian 49-46.
Brook Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Onley out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Morris, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Covenant dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Brook Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.
Covenant was dealt a bruising 61-15 defeat at the hands of the Guard in their previous meeting last Thursday. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Covenant was down 43-5.
