The Stringer Red Devils suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 71-38 loss at the hands of Leake County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Stringer has suffered against Leake County since January 21, 2020.
Leake County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Treylon Ricks out in front who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Ricks has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tay Fortune, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Stringer has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Leake County, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-12.
Stringer will be playing at home against Piney Woods at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Piney Woods is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Leake County, they will head out on the road to challenge Mississippi School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
