After soaring high against King Kekaulike on Saturday, Icarus fell to the ground on Saturday. Maui found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 3-28 punch to the gut against Lahainaluna. If Maui were hoping to take revenge for the 17-24 loss against Lahainaluna the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped Maui's record to 1-2. The win bumped Lahainaluna's record up to 3-0.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Maui have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Baldwin at at War Memorial Stadium in two weeks. Neither Maui nor Baldwin could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. Lahainaluna will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Kamehameha Maui at 7:00 PM.
