Basketball Recap: Calvert Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lackey

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvert). They blew past the Lackey Chargers 50-29 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Cavaliers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Calvert was led to victory by Amani Welch and Brooke Kidwell. Welch went 10-for-15 to rack up 24 points and four steals, while Kidwell dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Kidwell has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Calvert was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Calvert's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Lackey, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-18.

Calvert didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-17 defeat against Leonardtown on the 19th. Lackey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
