After three games on the road, Fairview is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Blazer Tomcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 365 points over their last five games.
Fairview pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence County. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Lawrence County is ranked 70th).
Meanwhile, Blazer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Pikeville 72-47. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Blazer has managed all season.
It was another big night for Zander Carter, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Lalonde, who scored 17 points.
Fairview bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Blazer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Fairview might still be hurting after the 77-55 loss they got from Blazer in their previous matchup back in January. Can Fairview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
