Gunnison Valley (Gunnison, Utah) took the lead for the win when
Tyson Moosman threw a touchdown to
Dagen Thomas with 7:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Summit Academy (Bluffdale, Utah) 31-24 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Hagan Hines touchdown run, Summit Academy went into halftime with a 17-10 lead. The Bulldogs scored the winning points with a Moosman touchdown pass to Thomas that came in the fourth quarter.
The defeat comes as a step back for Summit Academy, which notched a 41-13 victory over American Leadership Academy in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for Gunnison Valley, which lost to San Juan last week, 56-25. The victory snapped Gunnison Valley's three-game losing streak.
