Doane Academy lost against the Pennsauken Indians on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Doane Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Pennsauken. Doane Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Doane Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Colin Warman, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Nick Fusco who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Warman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kameron Fields, who scored eight points.
Doane Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Pennsauken, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Doane Academy will head out on the road to face off against Bordentown at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bordentown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 523 points over their last eight matches. As for Pennsauken, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Camden Academy Charter on January 27th. Camden Academy Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Pennsauken likes a good challenge.
