6A District 3 recap October 1, 2013
Moore was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in 6A District 3. Earlier in the week, the Lions defeated Grant 54-16.
Moore took down the Generals 54-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
David Cornwell threw for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 37-50 with 1 interception.
Cornwell put up the best numbers in passing as Norman North defeated Midwest City. Cornwell's favorite target this week was Payton Prince, who caught 8 passes for 115 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Timberwolves' Cornwell and Z'quan Hogan have proven to be a lethal combination. Cornwell has thrown for 1,319 yards this season, while Hogan, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 40 catches for 420 yards. Eisenhower's Jarvis Jaskson leads the league in rushing yards with 405.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Norman North and Yukon. Wade Standley's team comes into the matchup ranked 20th in the state, while the Millers ranks 24th.
The Lions led 6A District 3 in scoring this week by notching 54 points on Grant.
