Meanwhile, Eagle Mountain was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday as they fell 28-24 to Benbrook. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 626th, while the Bobcats are ranked 233rd).
The losing side was boosted by BRYCEN VINDIOLA, who rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 110 yards and a touchdown. TERRY STARKS was VINDIOLA's top target, rushing for 136 yards.
Eagle Mountain wouldn't let Benbrook keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Eagle Mountain can thank Justin Fox and Jase Lunsford for forcing both of them. Brock's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Eagle Mountain, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Friday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Brock has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Eagle Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 198.6. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
