Vanguard won against Williston last Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Wells did most of the damage at the plate: Aiton scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Wells scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Aiton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Nate Navarro also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Vanguard pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
