The Longmont Trojans can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Greeley Central as Longmont made off with a 58-37 victory. The win was just what Longmont needed coming off of a 52-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Longmont to victory were Kaila Patterson and Savannah Pohl. Patterson went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists, while Pohl scored ten points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Patterson has scored all season. Stella Rulon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Sepeda, who scored eight points along with five assists and four steals. Sepeda is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rose "suzette" Rivera-flores, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Longmont pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Greeley Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Longmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northglenn at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Northglenn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 213th, while Longmont is ranked 92nd). Greeley Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Windsor at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th. Windsor is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.6 points per game.
