The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 17th straight loss. They took a serious blow against North Stanly, falling 61-19. South Stanly has not had much luck with North Stanly recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, South Stanly saw an underclassman step up: Briley Page scored 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Stanly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Giavonna Dunlap, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Dunlap hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalyn Bell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
South Stanly dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for North Stanly, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-3.
South Stanly will look to defend their home court on Friday against Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for North Stanly, they will head out on the road to take on Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
