Bishop Montgomery is on an 11-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Providence is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will host the Pioneers at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop Montgomery came out on top against Ramona Convent last Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Knights put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-2 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Brooke Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bishop Montgomery got a massive performance out of Ajeya Reddy, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Reddy a new career-high. Abigail Green was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bishop Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Providence hadn't done well against Archer School for Girls recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Panthers.
Madelynn Watts made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. Watts was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.
In other batting news, Delailah Lopez and Gloria Galindo did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Galindo went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Vitari, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Providence is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Bishop Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Montgomery hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .400. However, it's not like Providence struggles in that department as they've averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
