Meanwhile, Summit Charter Collegiate Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-44 to Delano.
Avenal has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
