The Clay County Bulldogs were the 67-50 winner over the Jellico Blue Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Clay County fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 82-80. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Carson Bolton was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Jellico. Bolton is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Isaac Mcnealy was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Clay County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Jellico, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.
Clay County will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 447 points over their last seven games. As for Jellico, they and the Tigers will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Sunbright is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
