The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans lost against the Calhoun County Saints back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ridge Spring-Monetta fell 55-47 to Calhoun County. Ridge Spring-Monetta has not had much luck with Calhoun County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Ridge Spring-Monetta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being James Bosket, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Bosket hasn't dropped below 18 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Tavin Rodney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
It was another big night for Kerron Scott, who scored 20 points for Calhoun County. The team also got some help courtesy of Theron Cokley, who scored 12 points.
Ridge Spring-Monetta's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Calhoun County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Ridge Spring-Monetta will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday. As for Calhoun County, they will head out on the road to square off against Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calhoun County is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, meaning Williston-Elko will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
