The Treasure Coast Titans waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Okeechobee with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. Given Treasure Coast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Brahmans are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tyson Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Wood Pierre was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Okeechobee's loss came despite strong showings from Corey Wilkerson and Oliver Saunders. Wilkerson almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, while Saunders scored seven points along with three steals and three blocks. Wilkerson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played.
Treasure Coast has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Okeechobee, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Treasure Coast won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Averaging 57 points so far this season, Inlet Grove's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Titans better be ready for a challenge. As for Okeechobee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glades Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
