Vista moved up to 385 from 440 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Avocado - West. The Panthers were able to make move up by falling to La Costa Canyon 21-0.
Oceanside extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ramona, 49-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Carlsbad's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Chapman threw for 243 and two touchdowns and Jordan Perez had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Shawn Cameron chipped in 137 yards. Tyler Crayton helped Carlsbad's passing attack out by catching eight balls for 87 yards.
Oceanside's Israel Paopao and Mikah Holder have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Paopao has thrown for 1769 yards this season, while Holder, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 30 catches for 596 yards. Cameron from the Lancers leads the league in rushing with 848 yards.
The top two teams in Avocado - West will face off this week when first place Oceanside takes on second place La Costa Canyon. Last week, John Carroll's team defeated the Bulldogs, while the Mavericks bested Vista.
