Lake Region came tearing into Wednesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Victory Christian Academy Storm by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-1. Considering the Thunder have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Josh Jenkins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jehiel Gomez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jenkins wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lake Region kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Thunder are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lake Region's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Lake Region will take on Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
