Highland Baptist Christian has gone 9-1 against St. Martinville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Highland Baptist Christian Bears will head out on the road to square off against the St. Martinville Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Highland Baptist Christian will be strutting in after a win while St. Martinville will be coming in after a loss.

Highland Baptist Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Jeanerette with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 14 runs or more this season.

Addisen Yates made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yates was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Faith Cormier was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Emily Bienek also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Highland Baptist Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Martinville's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-0 to Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Highland Baptist Christian's record is now 3-7. As for St. Martinville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Highland Baptist Christian took their win against St. Martinville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland Baptist Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
