The Estrella Foothills Wolves can now show off 19 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Cactus 71-14 on the road. With Estrella Foothills ahead 42-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Estrella Foothills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alina Bowden, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanel Yellowman, who scored nine points along with six assists and six rebounds.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Estrella Foothills, bringing their record for this year to 23-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Cactus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Estrella Foothills will be playing in front of their home fans against Goldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goldwater is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Cactus, they will head out on the road to square off against Deer Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cactus in Arizona (Deer Valley is ranked 49th, while Cactus is ranked 244th).
