Scheffler scored 23 points along with seven rebounds, while Cahoon scored 27 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Cahoon's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Mariah Jones was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Washington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Breanna Perry. Despite the final result, she scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Perry scored a full 57.5% of Washington's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Northside - Pinetown pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside - Pinetown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on December 22, 2023.
