The Floyd Central Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Richmond Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Floyd Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Floyd Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Meade County, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory.
Brock Conrad and Nathan Rushing were among the main playmakers for Floyd Central as the former scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and the latter scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Carter Mcquigg was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Richmond had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 61-20 victory over Jay County. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-9.
Richmond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cedric Horton, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mason Carpenter, who scored 16 points.
The win got Floyd Central back to even at 1-1. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
