Basketball Recap: East Clarendon Piles Up the Points Against Williamsburg Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Clarendon). They blew past the Williamsburg Academy Stallions 67-20 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolverines as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

East Clarendon found their leader in sophomore Cherish Cochran, who posted 21 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Kierstin Woods, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.

East Clarendon was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

East Clarendon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Williamsburg Academy, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Clarendon will take on Scott's Branch in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamsburg Academy, they will take on Timberland in a tournament on December 26th.
