Liberty-Eylau is 7-0 against North Lamar since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Liberty-Eylau Leopards will be playing at home against the North Lamar Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Liberty-Eylau is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Liberty-Eylau earned a 33-21 win over Pittsburg.
Britain Pipes was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Lamar's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 56-6 loss at the hands of Pleasant Grove. While losing is never fun, North Lamar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 555th, while Pleasant Grove is ranked 66th).
Liberty-Eylau's victory bumped their season record to 2-6 while North Lamar's defeat dropped theirs to 5-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Liberty-Eylau has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 157.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Lamar struggles in that department as they've been even better at 258.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Liberty-Eylau strolled past North Lamar in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 43-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was North Lamar's Quay Mason, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Liberty-Eylau to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
