The Hudson Cobras will venture away from home to challenge the Seffner Christian Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hudson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Hudson came up short against IMG Academy Silver and fell 8-5.
Aiden Shuster and Kainyon Chichester stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shuster went 1-for-2 with one home run, while Chichester went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Chichester's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Seffner Christian came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 9-1 victory. That's two games straight that the Crusaders have won by exactly eight runs.
Paxten Angel looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mason McBane was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Kensen Angel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Seffner Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Hudson's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Seffner Christian, they now have a winning record of 9-8-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hudson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seffner Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
