It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 96-54, which was the final score in Vertus's tilt against University Prep on Wednesday. Vertus has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Vertus had strong showings from Aiden Marshall, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds, and Dah'mere Brown, who scored seven points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Malachi Davis, who scored nine points.
Vertus now has a losing record at 2-3. As for University Prep, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vertus will square off against Orchard Park at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. University Prep and Henninger will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Henninger is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
