Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is 9-1 against Hartington-Newcastle since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Hartington-Newcastle took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge didn't have too much trouble with Wisner-Pilger on the road as they won 63-45. Given Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Wisner-Pilger is ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel-Concord-Coleridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Kvols, who scored 16 points along with three steals. It was the first time this season that Kvols scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Olson, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Hartington-Newcastle ended up a good deal behind Wynot on Friday and lost 66-52. Hartington-Newcastle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Everything went Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's way against Hartington-Newcastle in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made off with a 51-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
