HOWARD, Kan. - Special teams carried
West Elk (Howard, Kan.) to a 50-0 victory over Cedar Vale/Dexter (Cedar Vale, Kan.) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The special teams of the Patriots scored on two punt returns.
The lead that West Elk took on a touchdown run by
Armando Gomez with 10:00 to go in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Gomez and
Paxton Noll ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Spartans. Gomez scored two touchdowns on the ground and Noll added three as well.
WE came into the game allowing 11.7 points per game. Cedar Vale/Dexter's zero points were well below its season average of 14.0 per game.
