It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oak Park Northmen had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past Park Hill 17-14. Oak Park's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Hinkle, who rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Oak Park also got a significant boost from Travon Pankey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 110 yards.
Oak Park has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Winnetonka and 1-9 Truman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.9% over those games). As for Park Hill, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Oak Park will square off against Liberty North at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Liberty North's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last ten matchups. Park Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
